#WPUM 4/29/14 UPDATE!!!!!!!

Feedback: Easel height should be customizable, and very sturdy.

A lot of paint is heavy, and will have to be watered down in order to be mixed.

What other controls can we implement? head control?

We are now making a small-scale prototype out of cardboard to show our ideas.

Here’s the code we played with:

// Sweep
// by BARRAGAN <http://barraganstudio.com>
// This example code is in the public domain.
#include <Servo.h>

Servo myservo; // create servo object to control a servo
// a maximum of eight servo objects can be created

int pos = 0; // variable to store the servo position

void setup()
{
myservo.attach(9);
Serial.begin(9600); // attaches the servo on pin 9 to the servo object
}

void loop()
{
Serial.write(“loop1”);
for(pos = 0; pos < 60; pos += 2) // goes from 0 degrees to 180 degrees
{ // in steps of 1 degree
myservo.write(pos); // tell servo to go to position in variable ‘pos’
delay(5); // waits 15ms for the servo to reach the position
}
Serial.write(“loop2”);
for(pos = 60; pos>=1; pos-=2) // goes from 180 degrees to 0 degrees
{
myservo.write(pos); // tell servo to go to position in variable ‘pos’
delay(20); // waits 15ms for the servo to reach the position

}
Serial.write(“loop3”);
for(pos = 0; pos<180; pos+=2) // goes from 180 degrees to 0 degrees
{
myservo.write(pos); // tell servo to go to position in variable ‘pos’
delay(10); // waits 15ms for the servo to reach the position
}
}

 1. Also it was suggested that we implement a “manual control” for rotating the palette. Similar to how you dial a rotary phone, the wheel could be turned by inserting a paint brush or a finger into a cutout hole (for users who have enough dexterity). – Michael
