IMPLEMENTATION TUTORIAL: (STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO BUILD YOUR FINAL PROTOTYPE! INCLUDE CODE, PHOTOS (IF APPLICABLE) ETC)

  • : Acquire an arduino, breadboard, jumper wires and joystick/printed circuit board (pcb)

  • : Follow these steps to connecting the wires to the arduino to the breadboard to the joystick

//Setting up the joystick and arduino
1) Gather jumper wires, arduino leonardo, breadboard and a joystick
2) Connect a wire to the ground (GND) port of the Arduino Leondardo to a pin on the ground rail of the breadboard
3) Connect a wire from the power rail of the breadboard to the 5V port on the Arduino leonardo
4)Connect a wire from row 58 and row 59 to A-1 and A-0 respectively on the arduino
5) Connect a jumper wire from the ground rail of the breadboard (be sure it’s along the same column as the wire you already attached to the ground rail) to row 56
6) Connect a jumper wire from the power rail of the breadboard (same column as the wire already connecting the power rail to the 5V port on the arduino) to row 60 of the breadboard
7) Connect a wire from the VCC port on the joystick to row 60 on the breadboard
8) Connect a wire from the Vertical port (VERT) on the joystick to row 59 (Joystick)
9) Connect a wire from the Horizontal port (Horz) on the joystick to row 58 (Joystick)
10) Connect a wire from the (SEL) port on the joystick to row 57 (Joystick)
11) Connect a wire from the (GND) port on the joystick to row 56 (Joystick)
  • : 3d print the chassis/arduino leonardo box, box lid, joystick holder and joystick extension

  • : Place Arduino Leonardo into the box bottom, close it up with the box lid. Slide joystick in long way into the joystick holder and attach the joystick extension on top of the joystick.

  1. :Plug arduino into your personal computer and upload code.

Ideas for the future/improving things?

In the future the Super Saiyan Scientist would like to create a video game made specifically for GAME ABILITY, We would also like to create a different variety of  controllers that could be used for people who have disabilities in different parts of their bodies.
